Star DT Gaillard commits to Georgia

Highly sought-after defensive tackle Lamont Gaillard committed to Georgia on Saturday.

Gaillard, whose suitors included Alabama, Clemson and Florida, racked up 100 tackles and four sacks during his junior year at Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, N.C.

Georgia, which had only five commitments heading into June, now has 16 recruits on board for the 2014 class. The Bulldogs, who were picked by the media to reach this year’s SEC title game, finished 12-2 last season, including a 7-1 mark in the conference.
