Sooners up to No. 5 in Associated Press poll

Oklahoma held on for a 30-29 victory Saturday night against TCU and moved up two places in the Associated Press poll on Sunday afternoon.

OU, 10-1, is No. 5, behind Clemson, Alabama, Iowa and Notre Dame. OU is also No. 5 in the Coaches Poll.

Michigan State beat Ohio State Saturday and is No. 6. Baylor is No. 7 after beating previously unbeaten Oklahoma State. The Cowboys fell to No. 9.

TCU is the only other Big 12 team ranked. The Frogs are No. 15.

The top four teams in the College Football Playoff Committee rankings will make the playoffs. OU came in at No. 7 last week. The new rankings will be released Tuesday night.
