South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw has bruised his right shoulder and been taken to the locker room to be evaluated.
The junior quarterback left the field late in the second quarter after a 2-yard gain to the Vanderbilt 46. He then walked to the sideline holding his right arm close to his body and grimaced when examined on the sideline.
Shaw came in having won eight of his nine career starts. He was 3 of 6 for 23 yards passing and ran nine times for 59 yards before being hurt.
Sophomore Dylan Thompson replaced Shaw for ninth-ranked South Carolina.
