SE Missouri cruises past Missouri Baptist 77-0

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Kyle Snyder passed for two touchdowns and ran for another and Southeast Missouri beat Missouri Baptist 77-0 in the season opener for both teams Thursday night.

After Missouri Baptist went three-and-out on its first possession, Spencer Davis returned the ensuing punt 61 yards to the 8-yard line. Two plays later, Snyder punched it in from one yard. SE Missouri scored twice more in the first quarter, with DeMichael Jackson carrying from 25 yards and catching Snyder's 66 yard pass.

Snyder went 10 of 12 for 198 yards and Jackson carried eight times for 82 yards.

Lennies McFerren, Lewis Washington, Alex Niznak and Tyson Estes all ran for touchdowns and nose tackle Joshua Wilson returned a fumble for another score.

Southeast Missouri rolled up 304 yards on the ground and held Missouri Baptist to a total of 81 yards of offense.
