SE Louisiana romps Central Arkansas 58-31

Bryan Bennett threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more to help Southeastern Louisiana beat Central Arkansas 58-31 for its seventh-straight win Saturday night.

Leading 24-17, the Lions (8-2, 5-0 Southland) erupted in the third quarter as Harlan Miller picked off Ryan Howard and returned it 48 yards for a score. Following a blocked field goal, Marquis Hayes broke open for a 46-yard touchdown run on the next play.

After a Howard fumble, Bennett ran for a four-yard touchdown to take a 45-17 lead. He added a seven-yard score late in the third quarter.

The Bears, (5-5, 2-3) tied the game at 14-14 in the first quarter as Howard threw touchdowns to Damien Watts and Desmond Smith before falling behind in the second half.

Bennett finished with 202 yards passing and added 142 on the ground.

SE Louisiana's Xavier Roberson returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown.
