Zeke Jones rushed for three touchdowns and Southeastern Louisiana routed Savannah State 63-6 on Saturday night.
Each of Jones' scores were on 1-yard runs as the Lions struck for 35 points in the second quarter to put the game out of reach at 42-6 by halftime. Southeastern Louisiana rushed for six touchdowns and rolled up 547 yards in total offense. Nine players carried the ball for the Lions, with Jordan Wells leading the way with 63 yards. He also scored a touchdown.
Through the first two games, Southeastern Louisiana (1-1) is averaging 483 yards on offense and 48 points per game.
The Lions also were effective through the air as both Brian Young and Nathan Stanley threw touchdown passes. Stanley completed 11 of 15 passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns.
The Tigers (0-2) were only 1 for 14 on third-down conversions.
