Tim Flanders ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns, and Robert Shaw reached the end zone on defense and special teams as Sam Houston State defeated Southeastern Louisiana 57-7 on Saturday.
Shaw returned a blocked punt 24 yards and an interception 54 yards for touchdowns for the Bearkats (4-2, 3-0 Southland Conference). Flanders became the first player in school history to run for 100 yards in five straight games.
Simmie Yarborough led Southeastern Louisiana (2-4, 1-2) with five receptions for 130 yards. He caught a 95-yard touchdown toss from Brian Young for the longest pass play in school history.
Sam Houston State running back Brian Bell had a 1-yard TD run and passed 38 yards to Kevin Matthews for a score.
