Richmond beats Delaware 46-43 in final seconds

Michael Strauss passed for 543 yards and five touchdowns, including a 3-yarder with 4 seconds to play, to give Richmond a 46-43 come-from-behind win Saturday against Delaware.

Delaware (7-4, 4-3 Colonial Athletic Association) took the lead 43-39 with 45 seconds to play on an 11-yard run by Andrew Pierce, but Strauss capped the ensuing 75-yard, seven-play, 41-second drive with the game-winning pass to Reggie Diggs.

Strauss completed 35 of 46 pass attempts, with TD strikes of 4 yards to Ben Edwards, 21 to Stephen Barnette, 50 to Brian Brown and 23 to Hunter Westfall. David Broadus had a 3-yard scoring run and Brandon Jordi kicked a 34-yard field goal for the Spiders (5-6, 3-4).

Trent Hurley threw four TD passes for Delaware and went 18 of 35 for 286 yards passing. Jalen Randolph scored on a 1-yard run and Sean Baner kicked a 42-yard field goal.
