CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Backup safety Ronald Geohaghan is leaving Clemson's football team.

Tigers coach Dabo Swinney said he and Geohaghan spoke earlier this week and announced Tuesday the player's decision to transfer following the spring semester.

Geohaghan is from Allendale and came to Clemson in 2012, ranked as the 10th-best high school safety in the country by ESPN.com. Geohaghan redshirted that season. He played in eight of 13 games for the Tigers in the secondary and on special teams.

Geohaghan finished the season with two tackles.
