Report: Tyren Jones will not enroll at South Carolina

Initially expected to impact South Carolina's depth chart this upcoming season, it doesn't appear as if Tyren Jones will be given that opportunity. 

Via a report from 247Sports, the Hutchinson Community College (and former Alabama) athlete will not sign with the Gamecocks on Wednesday. Academic issues appear to be the culprit in this scenario. 

While all is not lost for South Carolina, the subtraction of Jones isn't ideal. With Shon Carson and leading-rusher Brandon Wilds graduating, the depth chart at running back truly is wide open. Jones was expected to come in and add some production -- and offer some SEC experience from his days in Tuscaloosa. 

As such, Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks will rely upon David Williams, and incoming freshmen Rico Dowdle and C.J. Freeman (among others).
