Report: Top receiver rejoins Arizona

Arizona wide receiver Juron Criner is working out on campus and is expected to join the Wildcats when they start training camp Aug. 4, the Arizona Daily Star reported Tuesday.

The senior wideout's status had been a mystery after he reportedly missed a scheduled visit to ESPN in June, citing personal and family troubles.

But Criner, who is coming off a first-team All-Pac-10 season, is apparently back on campus and will be ready to suit up with his teammates next month.

"We anticipate having Juron," head coach Mike Stoops told the Daily Star. "He had some family issues that were concerning over the summer, and those are personal. We anticipate him being the same player -- or a better player -- than he was a year ago."

A column appearing in the Arizona Daily Star in late June said, "Criner's status for the 2011 season remains uncertain because of undisclosed medical reasons."

Arizona's sports information department responded to questions concerning Criner's health by saying, "We are unable to comment," citing student privacy guidelines.

The six-foot-four, 210-pound wide receiver has caught 134 passes for 1,903 yards and 21 touchdowns in three seasons with the Wildcats. Criner, who was a second-team All-American last season, has been named a preseason candidate for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation's top college receiver, according to the Daily Star.
