Report: PSU's Bolden to transfer

Penn State quarterback Rob Bolden is seeking a transfer after he failed to get on the field in Saturday's Outback Bowl loss to Florida, his father told the Altoona Mirror Sunday.
The freshman lost his starting job to Matt McGloin, who threw five interceptions in the 37-24 loss.
McGloin became the first player in Penn State history to throw five interceptions in one game, but while the coaching staff considered bringing on Bolden, coach Joe Paterno was against the move.
"He doesn't want to be there anymore," Bolden's father, Robert Sr, told the Mirror Sunday night.
"Penn State, at this point, does not seem to be the right fit for him. I guess at the end of the day, Penn State has to do what Penn State feels is best for their program, and Robert Bolden has to do the same.
"He decided he doesn't want to play for Penn State anymore, so he's looking to move on."
Bolden will transfer to a Division I-A school, his father said, which means he will have to sit out one season under NCAA transfer rules.
"I've reached out to a few different schools," Bolden Sr said. "They were reluctant to talk to me due to rules and all, but clearly once he has a release that's all going to change."
In order for Bolden to get his transfer, Penn State must release him from his scholarship, but Bolden's father did not foresee any difficulties.
"I don't see a reason why they should give us a problem as far as a release," he said.
Bolden started the first seven games of the campaign and became the first true freshman to start a season opener for Penn State in 100 years.
He suffered a concussion in an Oct. 23 game against Minnesota, where he was producing his best performance of the season, then lost the starting job to sophomore McGloin.
