Report: Missouri DE Marcus Loud dismissed from the team

The Missouri Tigers will have to look somewhere else for their next great defensive end, as the team has reportedly dismissed Marcus Loud from the team.

The redshirt sophomore was expected to compete for a starting spot on the Tigers' defensive front this season following the departures of NFL selections Shane Ray and Markus Golden.

Loud accumulated 14 tackles, half a sack and one tackle for loss in limited duty last season.

If reports of Terry Beckner's academic concerns turn out to be true, these two losses could be difficult to overcome for the Tigers' defensive line.

Combine those losses with Mizzou's transition to new defensive coordinator Barry Odom, and the strength of the last two SEC East championship teams could become a huge question mark heading into the 2015 season.
