Michigan is expected to meet with Louisiana State University football coach Les Miles as it continues its search for a replacement to the fired Rich Rodriguez, ESPN reported Saturday citing sources.

LSU released a statement Saturday saying the school had not spoken with anyone from Michigan but, according to the report, a meeting is expected to happen soon.

"I have not been contacted by anyone from the University of Michigan about Les Miles," LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said.

"Les Miles is LSU's head coach and we are going to do everything we can to keep it that way. He has had great success here and we plan to keep enjoying that success under his leadership."

Miles, who guided LSU to the national championship in 2007, has won 62 games in his six seasons with the team.

According to ESPN's sources, he has $18 million guaranteed left on his contract and if he were to join Michigan, LSU would be owed $1.25 million with no buyout for another school.

Michigan were reportedly in the hunt for former Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh, who joined the San Francisco 49ers on Friday.

Michigan has also expressed an interest in Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald, while San Diego State coach Brady Hoke is another candidate.
