Much-hyped former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson is visiting Florida State University, according to a report by 247 Sports that came out on Monday.

The outlet also reported that the Seminoles appear to be his top choice, citing a source that said, “Barring a last-minute change of heart or any influence from elsewhere, [Florida State’s] where he’s headed.”

While Golson may be in Tallahassee, Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher is not. Fisher is currently in Amelia Island for the ACC meetings.

With the departure of Jameis Winston, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft, FSU does not have a clear-cut starting quarterback heading into the 2015 season. However, Sean Maguire looks to be the frontrunner for the job, and who’s to say that Fisher would want to replace him with Golson.

I like the quarterbacks I have,” Fisher told the Palm Beach Post.

Georgia and South Carolina have also been mentioned as potential landing spots for the talented QB, who will not have to sit out a year upon transferring because he is a graduate transfer.

The 6-0, 185-pound Golson guided Notre Dame to the 2012 championship game and was a Heisman Trophy candidate the same season.

In 2014, Golson completed 60 percent of his passes for 3,445 yards and 29 touchdowns.
