Report: Former Wake Forest star Kevin Johnson could be first CB taken in draft

As he’s done all his life, Kevin Johnson is coming on strong late. The former Wake Forest Demon Deacons star cornerback, who began his freshman year of college weighing 155 pounds, has rocketed up the draft boards.
As the first round of the 2015 NFL draft nears, Johnson, who now stands at 6-1, 188-pounds, has blossomed into the top corner in this year’s class in the eyes of some NFL teams, according to Pro Football Talk.

Michigan State corner Trae Waynes has been widely regarded as the No. 1 CB, but PFT reports that “multiple teams” have Johnson ahead of Waynes.

Should Johnson hear his named called in the first round, he will become the highest Demon Deacons product selected in the NFL draft since LB Aaron Curry was chosen No. 4 overall in 2009.
