Report: Ex-Notre Dame QB Golson expected to announce new school Monday

Former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson’s transfer process could come to an end within the next few days. According to sources of the Palm Beach Post’s Tom D’Angelo, Golson is expected to name his new school on Monday.
Everett Golson was impressed with Florida State during his visit this week and could be leaning toward spending his final his season in Tallahassee as a graduate transfer.
Golson met with coach Jimbo Fisher on Monday, and Fisher is eager to add the former Notre Dame quarterback, according to sources. Golson is set to graduate from Notre Dame Sunday and is expected to announce his decision Monday.
Golson visited rival Florida on Tuesday and a trip to Georgia was reportedly scheduled for this past Wednesday, but it’s appeared from the beginning that Tallahassee is the most likely landing spot.
Any SEC school would have to receive a waiver from the conference due to Golson’s academic suspension at Notre Dame. The ACC does not require that.
Following his visit to Florida State, Fisher stated that “we’re negotiating” and that Golson is “a great young man.”
Should Golson choose FSU, his biggest competition for the starting position will be redshirt junior Sean Maguire, who led coming out of spring practice.
