A San Jose, Calif., cheerleading coach has been booked on suspicion of child molestation, police said Tuesday.

Anthony Loza, 23, who coached at Andrew Hill High School and Energy Athletics, was arrested at his home Sunday and remained in Santa Clara County Jail on $500,000 bail, the San Jose Mercury News reported.

Loza is accused of molesting a minor assocated with the high school or Energy Athletics, but there was no evidence to suggest he victimized anyone else at either location. Police said he molested the victim at various spots in San Jose over the past three months.

The news comes as child sex abuse scandals have rocked the athletic programs at Syracuse University and Penn State.
