Report: Cal offensive coordinator Tony Franklin interviewing with Texas

Cal offensive coordinator Tony Franklin will interview with Texas for its offensive coordinator opening, according to a report by Orangebloods.com.

Franklin has been head coach Sonny Dykes' closest offensive ally for the past six years, both at Cal and Louisiana Tech. The Bears averaged 38.3 points in 2014 to rank 10th nationally and scored at a 36.5 clip this season to rank 22nd. Franklin's help in the development of star quarterback Jared Goff has helped raise his national profile.

Dykes' recently signed an extension with Cal earlier this week.
