Report: Archie Manning boots Manziel

Johnny Manziel was supposed to participate in the Manning Passing Academy “Air it Out” competition Saturday, but "Johnny Football" left Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La., before the event occurred.

And it apparently wasn't his choice to check out.

Manziel was booted by Archie Manning when he showed up late on Saturday after staying out late on Friday night, according to Rumors & Rants.

The camp is run by Peyton, Eli, Cooper and Archie Manning. Camp officials told local media Maziel was ill, but campers said the Texas A&M quarterback “definitely was not sick.” The Heisman Trophy winner missed meetings on Saturday morning by showing up late.

That's no big deal for the average Division I signal caller, but the stakes grow when the gunslinger in question owns a Heisman and is getting his three squares a day at a camp adorned with the Manning name, the gold standard of 21st century quarterbacking.

Already in the past year, Manziel has twice abandoned Twitter after snits only to return, trashed life in College Station over a parking ticket, and appeared in more than his share of gossip columns after being spotted at casinos and in prime seats at sporting events.

Manziel, the Mannings and Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron were all hanging out at a bar on Thursday night.
