Report: After 9-3 season, Memphis' Justin Fuente to receive new contract

Memphis head coach Justin Fuente's name has cropped up as the college football coaching carousel has started spinning, but it appears his name can be taken off the ride.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal reported Thursday that the third-year coach and school have agreed to a new contract, with an official announcement expected on Thursday.

Fuente, a former offensive coordinator under Gary Patterson at TCU, took a Tigers program to a 9-3 season in 2014, a share of the American Athletic Conference title and a spot in the Miami Beach Bowl.

Memphis' league title was its first since 1971.
