When head coach Bret Bielema came to Arkansas in December of 2012, not only did the roster need to be significantly modified to fit his system, but the overall talent was down following the end of the Bobby Petrino and short-lived John L. Smith era. Now that Bielema and his staff have had several seasons to recruit, one thing is clear, the state of Arkansas belongs to the Razorbacks.
Not only have the Hogs done an excellent job of keeping top talent at home, they annually improve on their ability to keep the state's best players in-state.
According to Saturday Down South, the Razorbacks landed half of Arkansas' top 10 prospects in 2014. Only a year later, the Hogs netted nine of the top 11 prospects in the state. This season, Arkansas already has commits from the top four prospects in the state.
With the Razorbacks losing senior quarterback Brandon Allen, potentially losing both running backs Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams along with a few key linemen, some may question if the Hogs can replace those losses in one offseason. Bielema's efforts on the recruiting trail would suggest the answer is yes.
