Oklahoma State had a quarterback commit for the class of 2016 in Nick Starkel. That commit is no longer. Starkel bailed on his pledge to the Cowboys this weekend, leaving Mike Gundy still searching for his quarterback of the future.

Starkel volunteered the following in a screenshot he posted to Twitter:

"Playing college football has always been a dream of mine. Over these past couple of weeks I have spent time praying and discussing with my family about my college decision. We have decided that it is best for me to open up my recruitment. Therefore I am decommitting from Oklahoma State and am now open to looking at other colleges. I would like to thank everyone at OSU for recruiting me and being my first DI. The coaches and the relationships I made in Stillwater will last forever.”

Starkel is a 6-3, 185-pounder from Argyle, Texas.
