QBs Nova, Murphy chosen for Medal of Honor Bowl

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova and Boston College quarterback Tyler Murphy were chosen to play in the Medal of Honor Bowl next week.

Bowl organizers announced the rosters for the all-star game Wednesday. The game takes place Jan. 10 at The Citadel.

Nova was part of the National Team, which also features Clemson cornerback Garry Peters, South Carolina safety Brison Williams and Texas A&M receiver Malcome Kennedy.

Murphy will play for the American Team, which has Auburn defensive tackle Angelo Blackson, Syracuse tailback Prince-Tyson Gulley and Mississippi State cornerback Jamerson Love.

Nova passed for 184 yards and two touchdowns in Rutgers 40-21 victory over North Carolina in the Quick Lane Bowl. Murphy accounted for three touchdowns in the Eagles 31-30 overtime loss to Penn State in the Pinstripe Bowl.
