Lance Byrd ran for three touchdowns and Ryan Singer threw for a score to lead Presbyterian in a 28-14 win over Gardner-Webb on Saturday.

Byrd scored the game's first three TDs - running in from 33, 2 and 4 yards out - to put the Blue Hose (2-4, 1-1 Big South Conference) up 21-0 early in the second quarter.

Singer, who finished 13 of 20 for 146 yards, added his 11-yard TD pass to Joey Gilkey for a 28-7 lead with 2:22 left in the third quarter. Ricky Rhodes had a 2-yard rushing score to pull the Bulldogs (1-5, 0-2) within two touchdowns with 11:50 to play, but that would be as close as they could get.

Gardner-Webb outgained Presbyterian 354-325 on offense, but turned the ball over four times in the game. The Blue Hose had only one giveaway.
