Practice intensity growing at Beavers camp

Head coach Gary Andersen didn't expect to see a big difference between his practices in shells and his practices held in full pads. Apparently, he was wrong.

With the full pads on on Thursday, the Beavers had an extremely intense practice and were noticeably more engaged.

"It's football," defensive end Lavonte Barnett said, according to The Oregonian's Gina Mizell. "I think it's the style that Coach A brings to Oregon State ... everything else is kind of, you kind of have to hold yourself back. You have to pull up or stop five yards ahead. It kind of changes football, it takes away from it. When you're able to really let loose. It's just what we want to do. It's why we play football."

Andersen got into the spirit too, dropping F-bombs when trying to get players to focus, according to Mizell.
