Pike not in uniform for No. 5 Cincinnati

Pike hoped to be able to play on Saturday, four days after he had surgery to repair a plate in his non-throwing forearm. He was on the field for warmups, but was dressed in a sweat suit instead of a uniform. He had a cast on his left forearm.

Sophomore Zach Collaros was expected to get most of the snaps, though there was no announcement that he would start. Collaros took over when Pike was hurt during a win over South Florida and ran for a pair of touchdowns.

Pike broke the left forearm last season, had a plate and six screws inserted, and returned after missing two games. The Bearcats are hoping he's back next Saturday at Syracuse.
