Penn State still searching for left tackle

Penn State football fans have high hopes for Paris Palmer, but coach James Franklin told reporters he has seen some familiar things from the lineman early in camp.
That is not good news for a Nittany Lions offensive front hoping to take a big step forward after a woeful 2014.
Per the Centre Daily Times, Franklin told reporters that while Palmer, a junior-college transfer hoping to grab the vacant starting left tackle spot, looks bigger and stronger than he did in the spring, "he’s probably playing, in a lot of ways, like some of the offensive linemen played last year."
What did the coach mean by that?
"Tentative, not as confident, not as aggressive as you’d want him to be," Franklin explained.
As such, Penn State is still in search of who will be star quarterback Christian Hackenberg's blindside protector.
“Nobody has kind of grabbed ahold of the spot,” Franklin said. “We’re going to have to make a decision here. Are we moving some guys around to get the best five on the field? But we’re not at that point yet -- we haven’t even had the first scrimmage -- but no one has grabbed ahold of the spot.”
