Oregon's defense challenge is to limit 'creative ways' to get Stanford's McCaffrey the ball

On Saturday in Palo Alto, the Ducks will face perhaps the most dangerous offensive weapon in the country in Stanford's sophomore running back Christian McCaffrey. Oregon's defense has been unable to stop offensive playmakers all season and now has the unenviable task of facing the nation's best.

So how will the Ducks try to contain McCaffrey?

According to defensive coordinator Don Pellum, the Ducks will focus on limiting the "creative ways" to get McCaffrey the ball.

Stanford uses McCaffrey as a running back and a wide receiver. They can line him up in the pistol, bring him in motion, use him in the Wildcat formation or simply use him as a quarterback. Just ask Colorado.

Limiting McCaffrey will be key for Oregon's defense as the sophomore sensation has gained 241.5 all-purpose yards per game and has rushed for over 100 yards in seven straight games.
