Oregon QB Adams' playmaking abilities are like 'improvisational jazz', says Stanford's Shaw

Vernon Adams Jr. has been a revelation for the Ducks over their past three games, all victories. While Adams struggled through injuries to begin the season, he has taken control of the offense over the past three weeks and the Ducks have followed.

Oregon coaches have called Adams everything from a wild stallion to a playground quarterback. However, his improvisational style is what makes Adams such a dynamic playmaker.

As the Cardinal prepare to slow down Adams, Stanford head coach David Shaw offered up an opinion of Adams' game.

"He's like improvisational jazz," Shaw said this week, per ESPN. "He just starts and you don't know where he's going to go. … It's feel. It's instinct. It's athletic ability."

Adams' ability to escape the pocket, dance around and find a target deep down the field is incredible. Just ask Arizona State.

While Adams has been sharp the past three weeks, facing Stanford poses its own unique challenges. Adams will have the chance to impress Shaw in person at 4:30 p.m. in Palo Alto.
