Oregon announced on Friday that it has promoted wide receivers coach Matt Lubick to the role of offensive coordinator and he will be the team's play caller.

Lubick has spent the past three years as Oregon's receivers coach and passing game coordinator. He took over that role in 2013 when Helfrich was named head coach and Scott Frost was named the offensive coordinator.

"I think Matt is an outstanding football coach," Helfrich said, via GoDucks.com. "He’s very detail-oriented, he’s an outstanding recruiter. ... I think our continuity as a staff is a strength."

Lubick now slides into the position vacated by Frost when he left to become head coach at Central Florida.

“My mindset is ever since I’ve been employed here, I wake up every day and try to do the best job I can do to help Oregon football win,” Lubick said of his role at Oregon. “I did that when Scott was here, and I’m doing it now that he’s left.”
