Taylor Heinicke threw three touchdown passes as Old Dominion grabbed a victory with a last-second Jarod Brown field goal against Norfolk State Saturday, 27-24.

Heinicke, who finished with 325 yards passing, threw a 2-yard pass to Larry Pinkard midway through the fourth quarter to knot the score at 24-24 for the Monarchs (5-3). Old Dominion reeled in 465 yards of total offense for the sixth-straight game with over 400 yards.

The Spartans (2-6) had managed to take the lead for the first time all day one minute into the fourth quarter with a 2-yard TD rush by Malik Stokes. After the answering touchdown by Pinkard, Norfolk State made a 41-yard field goal attempt that was blocked with three minutes left to play.

Old Dominion began a 12-play drive down the field and Brown sealed the win with a 24-yard field goal as time expired.
