Oklahoma's Nick Basquine to miss season with Achilles injury

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma receiver Nick Basquine will miss the season because of an Achilles tendon injury.
Coach Lincoln Riley made the announcement Saturday during Oklahoma's Media Day. A team spokesman says Basquine was hurt during practice Friday.
Basquine caught 20 passes for 265 yards and two touchdowns last season. He started two games, including the Sugar Bowl. Quarterback Baker Mayfield calls Basquine one of the team's hardest workers and says he was going to be a ''huge, huge part of our offense.''
Oklahoma was already trying to replace Biletnikoff Award winner Dede Westbrook, a senior last season.
This is the second season-ending injury the Sooners announced this week. Reserve offensive lineman Alex Dalton injured a knee before camp.
