Notes from Monday press conference

A rather chipper Jim McElwain addressed the media on Monday. The head coach of Florida has every right to be in a good mood, considering his Gators smashed New Mexico State 61-13 this past Saturday.
He addressed multiple things during his rather lengthy press conference. Chief among the topics of conversation included the quarterback competition between Treon Harris and Will Grier. Each player performed exceptionally well this past Saturday.
"Both guys played well, both guys made mistakes, but that's part of playing, part of learning," said McElwain. "Yet, here's the good thing: they're all correctable mistakes. They're not fatal flaws, as we like to call them in our industry. Both did a good job. Both moved the team."

McElwain also lauded his senior linebacker Antonio Morrison. Morrison's ability to lead is something invaluable to a somewhat young defense.
McElwain on Morrison's comeback: 'Just keep writing about this guy. It's real and he deserves.' Leads thru actions. #Gators

The depth chart was also released for the upcoming contest versus East Carolina. Receiver Demarcus Robinson was demoted to a third-string standing. He was expected to be one of Florida's most electric offensive weapons prior to the year starting.
Lastly, McElwain was appreciative of the 90,000 fans in attendance last week. As he said in the press conference, "We've got a heck of a challenge [versus East Carolina]. We just need those fans out there like we did this last game to make The Swamp a tough place to play. I've got to say it again, it was pretty cool."
