Brad Henderson threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns to lead Northwestern State over Lamar 37-17 on Saturday night.

After kickoff was delayed due to an electrical problem, the Demons (3-3, 2-1 Southland) pulled to a comfortable 27-7 lead by halftime as Henderson threw for two of his TDs and Sidney Riley ran for another two.

The Cardinals (3-2, 1-1) never came close after that. They pulled within 30-17 late in the fourth quarter when Andre Bevil threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to J.J. Hayes.

But Northwestern State put away when Henderson found D.J. Palmer with a 54-yard scoring pass on the next possession.
