North Carolina recognizes its first-year letter-winners

The Tar Heels were a fairly young team in 2014, and most of last year's personnel will return to the field for the 2015 season. Even some freshman, now poised for success as sophomores, found their way into the action.

North Carolina held a ceremony to recognize its freshman contributors across all varsity sports recently, according to the official UNC athletics website, as the Heels honored those who had earned a letter in the fall. Senior offensive lineman Landon Turner was the featured speaker.

"My experience as a letterman has connected me to a family I will always cherish," Turner said, per the release. "Congratulations and welcome to the family."
