No. 17 Kansas State will be without freshman wide receiver Tyler Lockett for the remainder of the season because of an injury.

The team announced the news before Saturday's game against Texas A&M. The nature of the injury and when it occurred was not disclosed.

Lockett is second on the team in receiving with 18 catches for 246 yards and three touchdowns. He had 315 all-purpose yards in last week's 52-45 loss to No. 2 Oklahoma State.

Lockett has been most valuable on special teams, where he was second nationally in kickoff return average at 35.2 yards. He also is the first player in school history to return kicks for touchdowns in consecutive games - against Texas Tech and Kansas.
