LaQuintin Caston ran for three touchdowns and passed for another Saturday, leading Nicholls State to a 37-7 win over Northwestern State.

Caston, who rushed for 134 yards on 18 carries, scored on 39-, 2- and 22-yard runs as the Colonels (3-7, 2-4 Southland Conference) jumped to a 21-0 lead with 10:59 left in the first half.

Caston, 7-of-11 passing for 79 yards, also threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Kenyad Blair, and Dalton Hilliard scored on a 12-yard run.

The Colonels held Northwestern (5-5, 4-2) to 59 yards rushing and converted three of their four interceptions into points. Caston's second touchdown came after Jordan Hanberry's return to the Northwestern 2. Interceptions by Bobby Felder and Jordan Piper also led to touchdowns.

Paul Harris threw a 20-yard pass to Justin Aldredge for the Demons' only touchdown.
