New Hampshire overcomes 6 turnovers, beats Maine

ORONO, Maine (AP) New Hampshire overcame six turnovers to beat Maine 20-12 on Saturday, securing the Colonial Athletic Association title and a spot in the FCS Playoffs.

New Hampshire (10-1, 8-0) has now won 10 games in a row, a school-record.

Sean Goldrich, who came into the game completing 71.2 percent of his passes and averaging 308 yards passing per game, completed just 14 of 31 for 169 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. He had thrown just two interceptions in five starts for the Wildcats this season.

Trailing 20-6 in the fourth quarter, Maine (5-6, 4-4) recovered a fumble, setting up a 1-yard touchdown run by Drew Belcher but a missed extra point left it a 20-12.

After forcing a New Hampshire punt, the Black Bears took over on their own 1 with 2:40 left, but a pass from Belcher was intercepted by Nick Cefalo to seal it.
