Nebraska players make it clear Bo Pelini wasn't their problem

Bo Pelini didn't have the best breakup with Nebraska.

After he was fired by the Cornhuskers, he held an off-campus meeting with players in which he crushed athletic director Shawn Eichorst, and the Nebraska brass at large, in an expletive-filled rant.

He even reportedly called Eichorst a "total p----" and "total c---." So I'm gonna guess the administration didn't care at all if on Saturday at the Holiday Bowl, where Nebraska faced No. 24 USC, anyone remembered Pelini.

This much is clear, however: The Cornhusker players don't feel the same as university officials. They love Pelini, who's now the head coach at Youngstown State, and went out of their way to show everyone as much.

The players left the front seat of their team bus empty as an ode to Pelini:

Offensive lineman Jake Cotton put "BO" on the back of his helmet where his uniform number would normally go:

Wide receiver Kenny Bell wrote "PELINI" on his forearms and showed them off for the cameras:

Defensive back Joshua Kalu wrote "BO" on the back of his towel:

Other Cornhuskers also participated in honoring Pelini.

Yep, Bo might be gone, but it's clear the problem with him at Nebraska didn't reside in the locker room.
