NC Central charges to a 37-28 win over Howard

Jordan Reid passed for just 54 yards but directed a ground attack that pushed North Carolina Central to a 37-28 win over Howard in its Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opener Saturday.
Reid completed nine of 19 passes but led the Eagles (3-2, 1-0 MEAC) in rushing with 94 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown scramble in the fourth quarter. Idreis Augustus punched in a 6-yard touchdown run to put the Eagles on the board with their opening drive. Dequadis Tucker ran 17 yards for a second quarter touchdown, and two more touchdowns came from punt returns, including an 89-yard run by Adrian Wilkins and a 50-yarder by Tim Thaniel. Oleg Parent kicked a 48-yard field goal.
Howard (1-4, 0-2) had a big homecoming performance from Greg McGhee, who passed for 328 yards and four touchdowns, three of them to Jonathan Booker. Stewart Hartman caught a 9-yard TD pass.
