Morgan State's offense was out-gained but its defense and special teams stepped up for a 14-9 win over Howard on Saturday.
Richard Ndubueze sacked Howard quarterback Greg McGhee on the Bison 18-yard line, and Michael Dallas recovered the fumble in the end zone for the Bears' first score at MetLife Stadium with an attendance of 24,996.
Morgan State (2-2, 1-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) scored its only offensive points on Robert Council's 3-yard pass to Kristian Johnson early in the second quarter. The Bears took a 14-9 lead at halftime and won its seventh straight, and ninth in 10 games against the Bison (1-3, 0-2)
Howard had several chances to pull closer, but kicker Parker Munoz missed a 35-yard field goal attempt and had his 39-yarder blocked by Morgan State's Collin Bing.
The Bison finished with 375 yards of offense, while Morgan State had just 187.
