Morehead State had a record-setting performance in a 67-0 romp over Kentucky Christian in its season opener on Thursday night.

It was the Eagles' first shutout since November 2007 as they held Kentucky Christian to 40 yards of total offense. Kentucky Christian was held to two first downs while Morehead State had 39.

Morehead State set several school records and one conference mark: 753 total yards on offense, which also is a Pioneer League record; a school-record 474 yards passing; and Rainer Duzan kicked four field goals to set a school record with 22 field goals.

Morehead State starter Zach Lewis completed 27 of 46 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns.

Thirteen different players caught passes for the Eagles, with six different players catching touchdown passes.
