Trent McKinney passed for two touchdowns to lead Montana to a 35-24 win Saturday over South Dakota in the season opener for both teams.

Montana set a school record with 34 first downs. The Montana win spoiled the homecoming of South Dakota head coach Joe Glenn, who won the Football Championship Subdivision national championship while coaching at Montana in 2001.
