Mississippi offensive lineman Aaron Morris will miss the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl because of a knee injury.

It is the second time Morris has torn the ACL in his left knee. The 6-foot-5, 345-pound junior missed most of the 2013 season after the first injury.

Morris started 11 out of 12 regular season games this season. Coach Hugh Freeze said on Monday that Morris partially tore the ligament before the regular-season finale against Mississippi State, but wanted to try to play through the injury.

Freeze said Morris and the coaching staff elected to have surgery before the bowl game so he can try to return by the beginning of next season.

No. 9 Ole Miss (9-3) will face No. 6 TCU (11-1) on Dec. 31.
