Mike Gundy remains high on running back Jeff Carr's potential
Oklahoma State desperately needs a shot in the arm at the running back spot heading into 2016, and Mike Gundy believes Jeff Carr could be just that.
“I’m as excited as I’ve ever been about a running back,” said Gundy on National Signing Day. “He could very well come in here — he stays healthy, from what we hear about him and his temperament — in a couple years everybody is going to want to know where he was and why a lot of people didn’t recruit him.”
Carr is listed at just 5'7" and 168 pounds, and he struggled this season in the Cowboy backfield. But Gundy still sees the potential that had him so excited on signing day.
“I anticipate real strides next year from Jeff Carr,” Gundy said. “He’s got the physical ability. He was out there this year and he was just trying to learn how to play at this level instead of really knowing it and just playing reactive wise.”
