In Ron Johnson Jr., Michigan got its first recruit of 2016 to come from New Jersey, and fans of the Wolverines he won't be the last.

Johnson is a Scout.com three-star defensive end who announced his choice Friday on Twitter. The accompanying picture included Johnson, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, redshirt freshman Wolverine defensive back Jabrill Peppers and Michigan recruiting coordinator Chris Partridge.

Like Johnson, a senior-to-be at Camden High School, Peppers and Partridge come from New Jersey.

Partridge was the coach at Paramus Catholic until this winter, when he accepted his current position at Michigan. Peppers was a five-star recruit for Partridge at Paramus, which is the home of another highly coveted prospect for 2016: defensive tackle Rashan Gary.

Gary visited Michigan last weekend, and SBNation reported it was "an overwhelming success."

Given the tackle's status as the No. 1 overall recruit in the country (per Scout), Gary might not be likely to make a decision anytime soon, though.
