Miami's Tyriq McCord and Malcolm Lewis have surgery

Spring practices are great for team building, but they also yield their fair share of casualties.
The Hurricanes were not spared this spring, Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald reports, as two players underwent surgical procedures after camp had ended.
"The only two coming out of the spring that had any procedures were [linebacker Tyric] McCord and [receiver] Malcolm Lewis," Miami head coach Al Golden told Degnan. "They both needed a scope and both of them are doing great. Everybody else is fully integrated right now or will be integrated in the case of [offensive lineman Taylor] Gadbois, [Safety Rayshawn] Jenkins, you know, by summer 1 [session]."
Coach Golden didn't give away much in terms of injury information, but he did open up a bit about Miami's running back situation post-Duke Johnson, touting Gus Edwards before any other back. He also named Joe Yearby as change-of-pace option before mentioning Trayone Gray, Mark Walton and Walter Tucker as ball-carriers who could get into the mix.
