Miami reportedly drops DE Wesley

The University of Miami has dropped senior defensive end Steven Wesley from the team, the Miami Herald reported.

The Herald’s sources did not specify why Wesley was dismissed.

Wesley likely would have been a backup, though part of the defensive end rotation. Wesley, 6 feet 2, 250 pounds, had 17 tackles and three sacks last season. He started 17 games in three seasons for Miami.

Camp begins Thursday for the Hurricanes.
