McNeese St hangs on to beat Northwestern St, 35-28

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) Dylan Long ran for 88 yards and three touchdowns, Ryan Ross added 93 yards and one score, and McNeese State held on to defeat Northwestern State 35-28.

All three of Long's touchdowns came in the first half, and all came from within two yards out. Tyler Bolfing added 103 yards passing and Jereon McGilvery caught three balls for 53 yards for the Cowboys (6-2, 4-1 Southland), who built a 35-3 advantage at halftime, only to see that lead whittled to seven after a 25 point second half scoring run by Northwestern State (4-5, 2-3).

The Demons comeback was fueled by Zach Adkins, who threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns, and Ed Eagan, who caught 10 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown. Chris Moore finished with two field goals, with a long of 43 yards.
